Celebrate Earth Day at Quiet Waters Park

April 26 @ 10:00 am 2:00 pm

Quiet Waters Park is celebrating Earth Day on April 26th. Lot’s of fun activities are planned, including an invasive pull with Save Our Trees, Park Rangers and the Friends of Quiet Waters Park. Join us!

Featured events with experienced leaders

9:00am—Bird Walk

Walk through the forests, meadows and shorelines of the park—looking and listening for a variety of birds, including spring migrants. Bring binoculars if you have them. Registration required.

10:00am—Invasive Species Pull

Join others in removing invasive vines in the park. Bring tools & glove if you have them. Meet at Blue Heron lot.

11:00am—Woodland Walk

Walk along paved trails through the forests of the park, learning about native trees, their history, and the role they play in the Eastern Deciduous Forest Ecosystem. All Ages. Registration required.

1:00pm—Shinrin-Yoku~The Art of Forest Bathing

Engage in a peaceful walk along the trails of the park to learn to engage the senses and appreciate the benefits of being immersed in a natural environment. Ages 15-Adult. Registration required.

10:00-2:00—Self Guided Storybook Walk

Stroll at your leisure, with children in tow, along the Compost Trail for this family friendly exhibit arranged by the Eastport-Annapolis Neck Public Library. Follow the pages of a children’s book displayed along the path. All Ages

10:00-2:00—Self Guided Interpretive Signs & Watershed Stewards Garden Walk

Follow along with a map to see 8 large signs displayed along trails in the park that give you fascinating environmental information about that section of the park.

  • Cup of joe and baked treats from Fragg’s Coffee food truck
  • Live raptors and weed-eating goats
  • How butterflies and bees pollinate plants
  • Rain barrel demonstration at 11 am
  • Benefits of a dark sky at night, safe lighting practices, and how to participate in a citizen science project at home
